A court has arrested for two months a driver who killed two women at a bus stop in Nizhny Novgorod in a car-sharing car. This was announced on March 1 by the regional prosecutor's office.

It is noted that the young man was charged under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles").

"The court, taking into account the position of the prosecutor's office, chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

An accident with a carsharing car occurred on February 27. The young man driving the car got his driver's license in mid-November 2024. At the time of the accident, the car was traveling at a speed of about 150 km/h. Later, the driver of the car was задержан.
