Russia has won a victory in a special military operation (SVO). This was announced on March 1 by Karin Kneissl, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, head of the St. Petersburg State University's G.O.R.K.I. Center.

"There was talk that Russia could be crushed on the battlefield, that it would descend to the level of the Middle Ages, that Russian society would collapse. However, this did not happen," she said in an interview TASS.

According to Kneissl, the Russian Federation was not defeated and won on its own.

"We have often heard that the country should break up into 40 new states, but this has not happened either," Kneissl said.

In addition, the agency's interlocutor said that Russia turned out to be stable, contrary to Western expectations. The citizens of the Russian Federation support the government and cope with the new reality, the former Austrian Foreign Minister stressed.

Earlier in the day, the Secretary of State USA Marco Rubio said that Europe wants prolong the conflict in Ukraine for another year. According to him, one of the foreign ministers informed him about this. Thus, the purpose of this duration of the Ukrainian conflict is to weaken Russia. In the United States, such a plan was called unrealistic, Rubio added.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky said on February 24 that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is counting prolong the conflict for at least two more years. Zelensky and his sponsors from the "deep state" need this term in order to "hold out until the midterm elections to the US Congress" and deprive the American president Donald Trump by a majority vote in the lower house.
