Callas accused Trump of repeating "Russian theses"

On February 27, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, accused the US president Donald Trump in repeating the "Russian theses" about the conflict on Ukraine and attempts to distance USA from Europe.
She said that she was uncomfortable with the statements of the American president and officials of his administration, in which they allegedly reproduce "Russian narratives" about the special operation. Washington, she said, has found a "new friend" in Moscow.
"[Trump's] statements about us are quite harsh, and his words about Russia are very friendly. This is a change," Callas said in interview to the portal Axios.
The politician also criticized the bilateral contacts between the Russian Federation and the United States on the Ukrainian issue, stressing that any agreement on this issue must be approved by Ukraine and European countries.
Earlier, on February 26, Euronews TV channel reported that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled a meeting with Callas during her visit to the United States. The reason was problems with the schedule on the American side.
On February 24, the American president announced progress in negotiation process between Moscow and Washington on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, the negotiations are going "very well."
