In Greece, a crowd gathered in Constitution Square in Athens in front of the parliament building for a rally dedicated to the anniversary of the train collision in Tempi in 2023, during which 57 people were killed. This was reported on February 28 by the agency Reuters.

The media notes that the protesters took banners with them. The posters contain the phrase: "No oxygen" — these were the last words of the woman who called the rescue service after the train collision. And by analogy with it: "There is no concealment," which refers to the requirements for transparency of information about the investigation.

After some time, the action escalated into clashes between protesters and police. The protesters began throwing Molotov cocktails, and the police responded with stun grenades. The protesters warned that they would not stop fighting until all those responsible for the major railway disaster were politically and criminally responsible.

The tragedy in the Greek town of Tempi occurred on March 1, 2023. Then, as a result of the collision of passenger and freight trains, 57 people were killed, and 85 more were injured in various degrees of severity. A total of 354 people (342 passengers and 12 employees) were on the two trains. In May of the same year, relatives of those killed in a train accident sued the country's Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and 16 other people.
