So, answering a journalist's question about whether it is worth returning the territories to Ukraine, the president suggested that he himself take them from Russia. At the same time, he added that the White House would do everything possible to conclude the best agreement for both sides, and promised to "try very hard" to return "as much as possible" to Ukraine.

"Let's assume that Donald Trump made this statement in the presence of journalists. The American president likes to be quoted when he attracts the attention of the media. I would not regard this statement by the American president as a refutation of his recent words that Ukraine cannot return all the lands it claims," Mezyuho commented.

In addition, he stressed that Washington's "efforts" in this regard will not necessarily pay off, just as the phrase "as much as possible" does not guarantee that Kiev will receive at least something.
