The urologist named non-obvious symptoms of kidney diseases

According to him, such signs include difficulty or rapid urination, often accompanied by unpleasant sensations, as well as symptoms characteristic of cystitis. In addition, it is worth paying attention to the swelling of the face and legs, decreased appetite, the presence of blood in the urine, aching or acute pain in the lumbar region and back. In some cases, fever and blood pressure spikes may occur.
"Kidney diseases can occur at any age — even in the fetus during intrauterine development or in the newborn. Hereditary pathologies appear both from birth and later, but acute renal failure is most often recorded in the first two years of life," the specialist noted.
He stressed that many kidney diseases develop asymptomatically, but already at the initial stages they can be detected using laboratory tests. In order not to miss the disease, the doctor recommended taking a general urine and blood test. And patients at high risk of developing kidney disease, such as people with diabetes, hypertension, or systemic lupus erythematosus, should undergo regular screening examinations.
"Diagnosis is also recommended after taking drugs that have a toxic effect on the kidneys," Bogatyrev emphasized.
Earlier, on February 26, nutritionist Dmitry Semiryadov told Izvestia that chronic fatigue and sleep disorders may be associated with low cortisol levels. He recalled that this is the most important hormone of adaptation to stress, which also gives energy.
