- ABC reported on Trump's entourage's desire to find a more cooperative successor to Zelensky

Part of US President Donald Trump's entourage wants to find a more accommodating politician to replace Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was reported by broadcaster ABC News on February 24, citing sources.
"Some figures in Trump's entourage want Zelensky to be replaced by a more accommodating successor who is less likely to obstruct America's controversial attempts to impose a peace deal," a source close to the Ukrainian government said.
He noted that the idea comes from those who see the Ukrainian president personally as the problem. According to the source, the election of a more accommodating successor will facilitate further negotiations on the settlement of the conflict.
Zelensky said on February 23 that he was ready to leave his post in exchange for Ukraine's NATO membership. He described his goal as ensuring Ukraine's security for the current moment, not for a 20-year perspective.
On 19 February, the US president called Zelenskyy's work, as a result of which the country was destroyed, terrible. According to him, the head of the Kiev regime is not interested in ending the conflict.
