Canada has not ruled out the possibility of deploying its troops on Ukrainian territory after the conflict is over. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said this at the conference "Support Ukraine" in Kiev on 24 February. The broadcast is carried by the official channel of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on YouTube.

"How we will help Ukraine - we are working on it together with allies, but all options are on the table," Trudeau said, responding to a question about whether Canada is ready to send troops to maintain security in Ukraine.

Thus, the Canadian prime minister explained that the country would be involved in supporting Kiev one way or another. He emphasized that Canada wants to do everything possible to help Ukraine.

In addition, Trudeau said that the country will give Ukraine aid in the amount of $5 billion from frozen Russian assets.

Earlier, on February 23, Dan Smith, director of the Stockholm Institute for Peace Research (SIPRI), told Izvestia that Western countries are unlikely to send their troops to Ukraine before any agreement is reached. According to him, European forces may appear in Ukraine after the conflict is settled.

On the same day, The Wall Street Journal reported that the UK and France were developing a plan to deploy up to 30,000 European peacekeepers in Ukraine. It is noted that the implementation depends on whether US President Donald Trump will be able to convince the US President on the limited role of the US soldiers, who will support the European Union in case of an escalation of the conflict.
