Wagenknecht party says plans to review FRG election results

The German party "Sarah Wagenknecht's Union - for Reason and Justice" (SSV) intends to review the results of the early elections to the Bundestag held on Sunday, February 23, with its lawyers. This was announced by the leader of the political association, Sarah Wagenknecht, at a press conference on February 24.
"If a party leaves the Bundestag because of the lack of 13.4 thousand votes, there is a question about the legal validity of the election results," - transmits her words German radio company MDR.
Thus, according to Wagenknecht, Germans living abroad were not able to participate in the voting, which affected the election results. This may be a reason to appeal to the Federal Constitutional Court.
According to the publication, about 213,000 voters abroad were unable to vote.
The new SSV party gained 4.9% of the vote, failing to pass the 5% threshold for passage to the Bundestag.
Earlier in the day, the head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov said that the chairman of the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) bloc, which won the parliamentary elections in Germany, Friedrich Merz will continue the policy of self-liquidation of Germany as chancellor. According to him, the political split in the federation "will deepen."
The CDU/CSU bloc won 28.6 percent of the vote, with the AdG in second place with 20.8 percent. The Social Democratic Party of incumbent Chancellor Olaf Scholz came third with 16.4%. At the same time, the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the SSV did not make it to the Bundestag.
