Doctor-endocrinologist named the most harmful fillings of pancakes on Shrovetide

Ekaterina Kazachkova, an endocrinologist at SM-Clinica, told Gazeta.Ru on February 22 the most harmful pancake fillings for Pancake Day.
According to the expert, condensed milk, jam and jam are among the least useful fillings, which contain a lot of simple carbohydrates that quickly raise blood sugar levels.
She also advised caution with fatty cheeses and sour cream that increase the calorie content of the dish.
"Another unhealthy filling is chocolate paste. It is not only high in calories, but also contains a large amount of sugar and trans fats, which can negatively affect metabolism and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease," the doctor noted.
Kazachkova also recommended to be cautious about meat fillings, especially fatty meats and sausages, which due to the large amount of saturated fat and salt can be harmful to the cardiovascular system and contribute to fluid retention in the body.
Instead, the expert advised to choose healthier fillings, such as cottage cheese, apples or berries. They contain protein and fiber, which help you feel satiety longer.
The expert also told about some less known, but useful fillings for pancakes. For example, pumpkin, spinach and other greens can be added to pancakes, as well as avocado, which, despite its high calorie content, contains healthy fats and can be a good choice for those who watch their health.
"It is best to combine pancakes with healthy fillings with other healthy foods as part of a balanced diet," Kazachkova concluded.
Tatyana Meshcheriakova, a doctor-dietitologist and expert in the field of healthy nutrition of Level Kitchen service, warned on February 22 about the harm of combining sweet pancakes and some drinks. According to her, during the holiday week it would be optimal to eat pancakes as a separate meal no more than three or four times a week, that is, approximately every other day.
