Russian Armed Forces soldiers reveal details of the liberation of Novoselka and Novovocheretovatoye in the DNR

On February 22, the Russian military from the Vostok group of forces reported the liberation of the settlements of Novoselka and Novovochertovatoje in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). According to one of the fighters, the operation took place under conditions of distraction - the group moved ahead, covering the landing force that followed them.

"We tried to divert attention from the paratroopers who were traveling behind us. To lead the paratroopers to the settlement, working on enemy fire points along the way, let's say, to pave the way for our paratroopers," the Russian fighter said.

Novoselka was liberated by units of the 57th Brigade, while Novovochertovatoye was liberated by soldiers of the 5th Tank Brigade of the Vostok group.

Another fighter of the Vostok group said that the Ukrainian military did not expect the attack and this allowed the Russian forces to take the enemy by surprise.

"All the guys were well-coordinated, understood each other. We established communication, reported to the commanders that we are here, everything is normal, the guys are all intact. We came in without losses", - said the shooter, call sign Lin.

Retreating, the Ukrainian military left weapons, including Western models. In one of the houses, Russian fighters found a Czech machine gun from 1963, which was damaged and, according to them, will now be given to a museum.

Earlier, on February 21, the Russian Defense Ministry released a video of the fighting in the settlements of Novoselka and Novovocheretovatoje in the DNR in the South Donetsk direction as a result of an active advance deep into the enemy's defenses.

On the same day, the Defense Ministry reported that the Russian military liberated the settlements of Nadezhdinka and Novoselka in the DNR. Nadezhdinka was liberated by units of the Center group of forces, while Novoselka was liberated by fighters of the Vostok group, the report said.
