A father of six children and a gunner of a T-72BZM tank of the "North" group of troops with the call sign Winnie the Pooh told about his service in the zone of special military operation (SMO) on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day. This was reported in the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry on February 22.

According to the fighter, he could not stay away from the ongoing events and decided to sign a contract for military service in the Russian army. Currently, the tanker is in his unit on the Kharkiv direction.

During his service in the zone of the North-Eastern European Military District, he and the crew of his combat vehicle were awarded the state medal "For Bravery".

"In the course of working out at the given coordinates, the tankers came under enemy counter-battery fire. Despite the fact that enemy shells detonated in the vicinity of the vehicle, the crew made a decision to complete combat firing and support our advancing infantry," the Defense Ministry said of the circumstances of the feat.

The father of many children is described by fellow soldiers as a kind and sympathetic man who often approaches things with humor and charges his battle comrades with positivity.

"Tankers of the "North" group of troops in the zone of the special military operation provide fire support to motorized rifle and assault units of the Russian troops, act as part of armored groups, destroy military equipment and concealed enemy manpower," the Defense Ministry said.
