"In January of this year, the Red Army hit the enemy with an unprecedented blow on the entire front from the Baltic to the Carpathians. It cracked for 1,200 kilometers powerful defense of the Germans, which they had been creating for a number of years. During the offensive the Red Army quickly and skillfully pushed the enemy far to the west. The Soviet troops with hard fighting advanced from the borders of East Prussia to the lower reaches of the Vistula", - the edition quotes his words.
There were exactly 76 days to the Great Victory.
In a short period of time, the Germans lost more than 350 thousand soldiers and officers as prisoners and at least 800 thousand killed. During the same period the Red Army destroyed and captured about 3 thousand German airplanes, more than 4.5 thousand tanks and self-propelled guns and at least 12 thousand guns.
