An immersive program dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad, which visually immerses guests in the historical events of that time, was launched at the Victory Museum in Moscow, "Izvestia" observed the opening of the exhibition on February 2.
Museum guests are greeted by guides in wartime uniforms. Talking about the course of the battle on the Volga, they offer visitors to examine Soviet fortifications, try to throw a grenade, assemble and disassemble samples of weapons 1941-1945 and much more
Thanks to the reconstruction of historical events, the participants of the event will be able to visit a dugout, where a Red Army soldier will tell them how trench systems were used in battles. Visitors will learn about the first street battles in Stalingrad. In the sanitary wagon, a nurse will show how wounded soldiers were given first aid in a mobile hospital. In the next, tank location, guests will see the equipment that took part in the battles for Stalingrad. The program will be completed by showing a documentary chronicle of the battle on the big screen.
"We try to keep up with the times on the one hand. And on the other hand, we offer the younger generation more of such immersive technologies to show both equipment and stories about those times. They provide an opportunity to participate and be in the place where our grandfathers and great-grandfathers were in those heroic times", - said the deputy director of the museum "G.O.R.A." The anniversary of the successful end of the Battle of Stalingrad on February 2 is celebrated across the country. In Volgograd a car rally was organized in memory of the most brutal battles, the participants laid wreaths at the monuments. A patriotic race and laying of flowers took place on Mamaev Kurgan.
Earlier on February 2, the Federal Security Service (FSB) declassified archival data, transmitted to the military leadership of the USSR during the Battle of the Volga River (Battle of Stalingrad) in 1942-1943. The basis of information messages of that period included characteristics of the military situation, counterintelligence and intelligence activities, the state of the defense complex, the situation of the population and other data.
On February 2, Russia celebrates the Day of Military Glory - the Day of the defeat of Nazi troops by Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad. The Battle of Stalingrad is considered the bloodiest battle in world military history. The Red Army losses exceeded 1 million people, the enemy lost about 1.5 million.
In 2025, May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). In January 1945, the USSR army launched an offensive on Berlin.
