Sakhalin assault aircraft captured four AFU strongholds on the South Donetsk direction

During the Russian army's active offensive in the southern Donetsk direction of the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone, servicemen of the Sakhalin assault brigade captured four strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the press service of the Defense Ministry on February 20.
"During the first combat task, they had to cross a small river and neutralize the militants who took refuge in four strongholds. From there, the AFU launched strikes on one of the DNR settlements, corrected artillery strikes, and also actively used FPV drones and mortars," the military ministry said.
An example of bravery and courage was demonstrated by the commander of the assault group with the call sign Kolyma. For a long time he worked as a tower crane operator in Magadan, but decided to take up arms and go to the defense of the peaceful population of Donbass. According to him, he could not put up with the AFU's unpunished shelling of peaceful settlements in Donbass.
"About a platoon of them [AFU soldiers] were there. Two machine gun crews were standing there, working on us with very dense fire. They also had a mortar crew constantly silent," Kolyma said about the situation during the assault.
The militants, who did not want to surrender and offered fierce resistance, were destroyed. One of the soldiers of the assault group threw a grenade into the enemy's dugout through the ventilation. After that the enemy stronghold was completely burned out.
The combat mission was accomplished without losses. For their heroism all the soldiers of the brigade were presented to the state awards.
A day earlier, on February 19, the crew of a T-72B3 tank destroyed an AFU dugout in the Orekhovsky direction in the SSO zone. During the performance of combat missions, the tank crews use the method of firing both direct fire and from closed firing positions according to the received coordinates. Depending on the conditions, the tank crew hits targets both in direct line of sight and at a considerable distance from themselves.
