Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to report on the investigation of the criminal case on the death of a company employee in Balakovo, Saratov region. This was reported on February 19 by the press service of the IC in Telegram-channel.

"It is preliminarily established that on February 19, 2025 in one of the organizations in the city of Balakovo during the production of works there was a release of a chemically hazardous substance, as a result of which an employee of the organization died," - reported in the agency.

It is specified that another employee was hospitalized in a medical facility, where he is currently being treated.

"The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the acting head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Saratov region Mikhailin I.A. to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case and the established circumstances", - said in the Investigative Committee.

Earlier, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Saratov region initiated a criminal case under part 2 of article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of labor safety requirements, causing the death of a person by negligence").
