The average CMTPL insurance payout has increased in Russia


The average payout on MTPL insurance in 2024 increased by 13% to 99,956 rubles compared to 88,789 rubles in 2023. This was reported on February 19 by the President of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RUIA) Evgeny Ufimtsev with reference to the data of the Union.
According to the specialist, the number of settled losses, during which the insurance company considers the circumstances of the accident and decides on the payment and its amount, amounted to 2 million in 2024. The total amount of payments for the past year amounted to 202.5 billion rubles - 21.4% more than at the end of the previous 2023.
The average MTPL premium at the end of 2024 amounted to 7,616 rubles, down 2.6% compared to 2023 - 7,817 rubles.
"MTPL insurance in the past 2024 showed good results, showing growth in all the main indicators - on payments, collections, the number of concluded contracts. And the average payment to motorists under MTPL insurance also increased by 13% over the year," Ufimtsev said.
The expert also noted that the positive dynamics of CMTPL insurance with the fact that in anticipation of 2025 citizens actively began to buy policies for their cars. In addition, the dynamics of CMTPL insurance was influenced by the development of electronic services, as it is more convenient and saves time.
Earlier, on January 20, the head of the Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR) in his Telegram-channel reported that the Duma prepared a bill that provides for an increase in the limit of insurance payments on MTPL. According to him, the bill proposes to increase the limit of insurance payments under CMTPL from Br500 thousand to Br650 thousand in terms of compensation for damage to life and health of victims and from Br400 thousand to Br520 thousand in terms of property damage.
