Russians were reminded about the absence of holiday weekends on February 23
Defender of the Fatherland Day is a non-working day, but there will be no shortened week due to the holiday, as February 23 this year comes on Sunday. This is reported on February 18 by TASS with reference to the press service of Rostrud.
It is noted that the day off will be moved to the May holidays.
In the message of Rostrud informs that in the case of coincidence of a day off and a holiday is transferred to the next day after the holiday. Nevertheless, according to the government decree "On the transfer of days off in 2025", February 23 is transferred to Thursday, May 8.
In addition, the agency noted that such a move will extend the rest on holidays in May. Then there will also be a shortened week. Thus, in 2025, Russians will rest from 1 to 4 May and from 8 to 11 May.
On the same day, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov said that working Russians this year will not have a shortened work week in connection with the holidays of February 23 and March 8, as they both fall on weekends.
