Russia has created the Borshchevik reconnaissance system, which can detect and track enemy movement at any time of day and in any weather. It reacts to equipment and people with weapons by detecting changes in the surrounding magnetic field. The novelty can be used on reconnaissance drones or in remote mining. About how this development can be used in the zone of SWO, - in the material "Izvestia".

Magnetic sensor

System "Borschevik" is a complex magnetic sensor, which consists of electronic stuffing, software and a battery. The novelty can be installed on UAVs for reconnaissance. It can also be used for covert mining of terrain - in this case, mines or other explosive devices are dropped from the drone, pre-equipped with "Borschevik".

- An important feature of magnetic sensors is the ability to calibrate and adjust them to the required ranges of magnetic fields," Alexander Lemekh, founder of the Laboratory of the Future LLC project, told Izvestia. - This allows to adjust the system to the necessary characteristics of the intended object of triggering. System settings for high sensitivity allows you to see the slightest fluctuations of the magnetic field in a point of space, which makes it possible to fix the movement of ferromagnetic objects of small size. Settings of "Borschevik" for large automobile or military equipment will allow to fix the presence or absence of large-sized equipment in a certain point. It also allows you to track the tracks of movement of equipment, including unmanned, in a certain area.

This principle of operation allows to react imperceptibly to the movement of the enemy - both equipment and personnel. And poor visibility, darkness or weather conditions are no obstacle for it.

The developer explained that there are basic batch settings, but each sensor can be reconfigured on site via USB interface using the software (software) of the development company.

Fighters are already using this development in the SWO area and giving positive feedback about it.

According to Alexander Lemekh, the new system supplements the functionality of reconnaissance, strike and FPV drones with a detection function.

Remote mining

Borschevik's capabilities allow not only reconnaissance, but also stealthily for the enemy to install smart minefields.

The drone can scatter sensor-equipped mines or explosive devices behind enemy lines. The sensor will allow them to activate depending on the settings when approaching vehicles or personnel.

Moreover, "Borschevik" can be configured to the desired ranges of magnetic fields, which allows you to skip the infantryman, but triggered when approaching a car or tank.

Now engineering troops are most interested in this development. So, now in the area of the North-West Military District "Borshchevik" is used for mining tasks, said Alexander Lemekh.

The drone, equipped with a sensor and filled with explosives, is effective as a smart munition: it can be thrown into the rear of the enemy, where it will wait for the target and at the right time will hit it. And, unlike conventional mines, it can be brought back if there are no worthy targets, military expert Yuri Lyamin noted in a conversation with Izvestia.

- Remote mining is carried out with the help of reactive shells, in particular, the "Earthmine" system. In this case, the enemy can see where the mines have fallen and bypass this place. But the drone mines stealthily or quietly flies up, sits down and waits," he explained. - The development is interesting - combining a drone with such a sensor - it looks promising.

This kind of means will significantly improve the information picture for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the more new information will be received in real time. This was told to Izvestia by military expert Dmitry Kornev.

- Such combat systems can work as a reconnaissance and strike complex. With the help of drones with this sensor can cover some terrain and analyze what objects are on this territory, - he explained. - Based on the data obtained, the reconnaissance operation is either terminated and the UAVs return to the site, or they can perform a combat mission - to attack the detected objects at the specified coordinates. These are the unique capabilities of this combat system.

Specific tasks for UAVs

In the Russian army the direction concerning the development and use of UAVs is now actively developing. Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that UAV technical and operational units were established in each association, compound and military unit of the Russian grouping operating in the zone of a special military operation. Non-staff workshops and technical support groups were also organized.

Their personnel are primarily responsible for restoring damaged drones, including trophy drones. At the same time, in order to increase the effectiveness of the use of drones, systematic work has been organized to introduce new technologies and improvements.

These units are modernizing existing models in accordance with the specifics of the theater of operations. If necessary, special models of equipment are produced that make it possible to solve specific combat tasks.

The troops operate a large number of unmanned systems, so they cannot do without repair shops, military expert Alexei Leonkov told Izvestia.

- At the beginning of the military special operation, the majority of UAVs - primarily, of course, of the copter type - were supplied by volunteers," he recalled. - They also maintained them. And a lot of things related to drones three years ago happened spontaneously.

According to him, now UAVs play a big role in the combat zone, they are used en masse, and their number will only grow.
