- German political analyst admits participation of BRICS countries in peacekeeping missions in Ukraine

Not only European countries, but also representatives of the Global South may send their peacekeeping contingents to Ukraine in case of a peace agreement. This is the viewpoint expressed to Izvestia by Ralph Becker, coordinator of the Rethinking Security Policy initiative and German political scientist.
"Strong peace requires active efforts. I am convinced that Germany will send its troops. We take the initiative for dialog and non-violent conflict resolution. However, the present situation requires the presence of the military of Germany, Europe as well as the countries of the Global South, including the BRICS countries such as China, India, Brazil and South Africa," he added.
Meanwhile, following a summit on European security held in Paris on February 17, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz urged not to speculate about sending European troops to Ukraine, as, according to him, it is too early to discuss such a thing.
