Among the women surveyed, 77% expressed the opinion that gentlemanly etiquette is important and said they expect such gestures from men. For the rest 22% it is a pleasant bonus to the relationship, and only 1% are indifferent to such traditions. This is stated in the results of a survey of the deiting-service Mamba, which were read by "Izvestia" on February 18.
At the same time, more than half of the survey participants (56%) are sure that good manners make a man more attractive. And for 42% lack of etiquette is an obvious disadvantage when choosing a partner.
However, only 30% of Russian women regularly meet gallant gentlemen in their lives. The majority (59%) encounter etiquette from time to time, and 11% live in a world without gentlemen.
Among men, 62% attach great importance to gallantry and try to follow the rules. At the same time, the majority of Russians agree that etiquette is a male prerogative. This was noted by 79% of women and the same number of men. At the same time, 20% of men are in favor of creating similar rules for ladies, and 13% of women are ready to support this idea, noted in the results of the study.
Experts found out that 60% of men see etiquette as a common manifestation of politeness, 18% follow the example of parents, and 17% so express their feelings. Women in general share this view: for 77% of respondents etiquette is only a marker of good upbringing. At the same time, 18% of Russian women admit that exaggerated gallantry on the part of a colleague or boss can be tense, and 5% consider such gestures a red flag.
The top of gentlemanly gestures is headed by help with bags - 66% of ladies voted for it. On the second place - giving a hand when leaving the transport and opening doors (41% each). Among the important signs of attention are also help with outerwear (40%) and escorting to transportation (33%).
Men in the survey said they most often open doors (59%), let women go first (48%) and help with outerwear (39%). Less often they take on the role of a porter (32%) and give a hand when leaving the transport (30%). And the rarest gesture was help with a chair in a restaurant - it is practiced by only 9% of cavaliers.
Earlier, December 17, 2024, it was reported that in 2025 most Russians are determined to change their personal lives for the better, and are ready to find a partner. Relationships will be a priority for 65% of women and 58% of men, according to the results of a study by the dating service Mamba.
