The Russian Government will allocate more than 1.3 billion rubles to compensate residents who lost their homes in Kursk region due to shelling. This is reported in a document on the government website on February 17.
"The government continues to provide financial support to the affected residents of the Kursk region. More than 1.3 billion rubles have been additionally allocated to compensate for the cost of renting housing to families who were forced to leave their places of residence due to shelling," the document says.
It is specified that the money will be provided for compensation for the period from December 2024 to January 2025, as well as the upcoming period from February to April 2025. This will allow to reimburse citizens for the costs incurred by them for hiring housing.
Earlier, on February 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the payment of Br150 thousand for the residents of the Kursk border region, who lost their property, is not enough. The Russian leader said that he would instruct the government to work on this and other issues.
