Zelensky says Ukraine's chances of survival without U.S. funding are low

Ukraine has little chance of survival if the USA refuses to finance Kiev. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose powers expired on May 20, said this in an interview with NBC News on February 14.
"It will probably be very, very, very, very difficult <...> but we will have little chance, little chance to survive without the support of the United States," the Ukrainian leader said.
He also voiced his concern that Ukraine would become vulnerable without American aid. According to him, the country will not have enough of its own resources to fight.
On February 10, US leader Donald Trump said that Washington would not help Kiev gratuitously; as a response to the assistance, the US expects to get access to Ukraine's rare-earth metals. Later, The Washington Post journalist Josh Rogin reported that Zelenskyy refused to sign a version of the agreement provided by the US side, under which the states would have received rights to half of the Ukrainian resources that had not yet been extracted.
