Russian schoolchildren have received two gold and two silver medals at the international Olympiad in mathematics Romanian Master of Mathematics in Romania. This is reported on February 14 on the website of the Russian government.

Medals were awarded to schoolchildren from Khimki, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok and Chelyabinsk. They performed tasks in a remote format on the basis of the educational center "Sirius" in Sochi. They were congratulated on their victory by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov.

"The importance of quality teaching and schoolchildren's passion for math is emphasized by [Russian] President [ Vladimir Putin]. The high results of our winners and prize-winners show that Russia has capable, hard-working children, highly professional teachers and mentors," said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He reminded that within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities" regional scientific and educational mathematical centers began to work. The creation of conditions for schoolchildren will continue thanks to the new national project "Youth and Children", added Deputy Prime Minister.

Kravtsov emphasized that the next achievement of our schoolchildren confirms the high level of development of science education in the country.

Last July, schoolchildren from Russia won five medals, three of which were of the highest merit, at the IEO 2024 International Olympiad in Economics.
