All-Russian environmental dictant in Russia: what it is, the purpose of the action
The All-Russian environmental dictant is an annual large-scale educational action, which is held to improve environmental culture and involve citizens in environmental protection activities. In 2024, the sixth action will be held from November 25 to December 8. At the end of the main stage, work on errors will be organized so that participants can improve their results and increase the level of knowledge.
The goals of the dictation are to raise the level of environmental culture and literacy of Russians, to develop education and volunteering in the environmental sphere, and to ensure the environmental safety of our country.
For the first time the dictant was held in schools from September 6 to October 15, 2019 in schools. More than 80 thousand people from 45 regions of Russia became pioneers of the action. In 2023, the number of participants reached 5 million people, and the geography expanded to 182 countries around the world.
According to Alexandra Soboleva, a biology teacher and author of an online course on preparation for the USE and USE in biology, the ecological dictant is becoming a popular educational event in Russia.
"First of all, the action is held to attract the attention of teenagers and children to environmental problems, to form in them a personal responsible attitude to the surrounding nature. In 2024, the official ceremonial start will be held in different regions of Russia. Thus, the central site of Ecodictant-2024 will be the Murmansk region.

Participants of the All-Russian Ecological Dictant will have to answer 25-30 questions in 45 minutes. They will cover a wide range of environmental topics, testing the level of knowledge in the field of environmental protection, rational nature management, human impact on ecosystems and other important aspects.
In the sixth ecological dictant, the organizing committee focused on questions about Russia's protected areas, the Red Book of the Russian Federation and ecotourism. The date of the announcement of the results of the All-Russian Ecological Dictant is currently unknown. However, the organizers promise that the scores will be published as soon as possible, so that each participant can get acquainted with them and, if necessary, work on mistakes. Award documents will be available after December 9.
