U.S. citizens have the highest incidence of disease among all inhabitants of the world. This was stated by the new U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy, Jr. on February 14 on Fox News.

"We spend two to three times as much on health care as other countries, but we have the worst rates. We have the sickest population in the world," he said.

He noted that the United States buys 70 percent of the world's medicines. Kennedy Jr. promised to focus the attention of agencies under his control on promoting healthy lifestyles. The politician also intends to revise dietary recommendations, to study the root causes of chronic diseases.

On February 13, the U.S. Senate approved Kennedy Jr.'s nomination for the post of Secretary of Health. ABC News reported on February 3 that Democratic senators demanded that the politician refuse to make any decisions related to vaccines as a condition for the approval of his nomination.
