In addition, 19% of respondents would not refuse to replenish an investment or savings account, as well as the purchase of cryptocurrency. Also, 15% of the survey participants spoke in favor of gadgets that facilitate work and household tasks, while devices for monitoring health and physical activity were chosen by 10% of respondents.

Among the least reasonable gifts 46% of Russians gave flowers, emphasizing their short-lived nature. Tickets to an event that is not of interest to the partner were recognized as a financially inexpedient investment by 23% of survey participants. At the same time, 17% noted the excessive costs of jewelry, and 10% - the costs associated with a romantic dinner in a restaurant. In addition, 4% of respondents spoke out against "cute" things for the home in the form of plush toys and candles.

According to the results of the study, among the non-standard gifts that respondents would like to give to their partners, investment in a dream is the leader - 27% of respondents are sure that investing in a project or business of their beloved can be a valuable surprise. 25% consider the purchase of shares or cryptocurrency in the name of the other half a successful option, and 22% suggested paying for a course for professional development. Opening a joint savings or investment account to jointly save for a trip or a large purchase was chosen by 15% of survey participants, while paying for subscriptions to educational and entertainment services was chosen by 11%.

"Valentine's Day is not only an opportunity to please a loved one, but also another reason to choose a gift wisely. Of course, emotional value is important, but financial rationality allows us to avoid unnecessary spending and make the surprise really useful: the development of digital services in Russia provides ample opportunities for choice. So, investment in the common future, professional development or dream of the partner - it is not only a sign of attention, but also a long-term contribution to the relationship," - said the director of communication policy department of financial marketplace "Vyberu.ru" Anna Romanenko.

Earlier, on February 12, it was reported that the majority of surveyed Russians (54%) spend February 14 in the usual rhythm: work, home, TV series. At the same time, 22% of girls please themselves with pleasant trifles - shopping or sweets, and 15% of men actively use deiting-applications in search of a companion. There are also those who save themselves from loneliness through work and sports: 11% of men and 7% of women. This follows from the results of a study by the dating service Mamba.
