WSJ has learned of Israel's plans to strike Iran's nuclear facilities in 2025

U.S. intelligence services have concluded that Israel is studying the possibility of launching large-scale strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in 2025. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal(WSJ) on February 12, citing sources.
According to the newspaper, such a conclusion was included in the relevant analytical report prepared in the last days of the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden. The newspaper's interlocutors noted that the risks of strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities have increased as Tehran weakens during 2024.
"U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded <...> that Israel is considering large-scale strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities this year to take advantage of Iran's weakness," the WSJ wrote.
It is reported that Israel plans in this matter to get the support of the administration of current US President Donald Trump for such strikes, considering him more likely to support the attack. Meanwhile, Israel will need American support, including ammunition and technical assistance, for the attack.
Earlier, on February 5, Trump said that rumors that the US and Israel intend to destroy Iran are exaggerated. The U.S. leader added that he would prefer a "verified" nuclear deal with Iran instead. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Trump was expressing fears in vain that the republic would obtain atomic weapons and his words had no basis in fact.
At the same time, the White House spoke about Trump's plans for cooperation with Israel. Counselor to the President Michael Waltz noted that the United States will raise the topic of the release of hostages and threats from the Yemeni Houthis and Iran.
Prior to that, on Feb. 4, Trump said the U.S. would not want to pressure Iran, but Tehran cannot have nuclear weapons. The remarks came after the U.S. leader signed a national security memorandum that puts "maximum pressure" on Iran's nuclear program. Trump also said the republic is "too close" to developing nuclear weapons.
