Expert predicted the ruble exchange rate this week
This week, the dollar will be in the range of Br93-98, euro - Br97-101.5, yuan - Br12.7-13.45, believes the head of the investment strategy research department of Alfa-Forex, Spartak Sobolev. He told "Izvestia" on February 11.
The Russian Central Bank set the U.S. currency rate at around 96.78 rubles on February 11, the European currency at around 100.5 rubles, and the Chinese currency at 13.2 rubles.
"The ruble in mid-February is aimed at consolidating against the dollar within the framework of 93-98 rubles. It is likely to expect ranges of Br97-101.5 per euro and Br12.7-13.45 per yuan," said Sobolev. At the same time, the yuan is trading at Br12.98, according to Mosbirzhi.
According to him, by the end of this week the driver of volatility and market support will be geopolitics, as well as the monetary policy of the Central Bank of Russia.
"The Bank of Russia on Friday is likely to extend the course of keeping high rates amid rising inflation expectations. It is expected that the annual consumer price index in January may grow by 0.5%," the expert added.
Earlier, in early December 2024, the head of Sberbank German Gref said that there is no room for a serious weakening of the ruble. In his opinion, the dollar rate at the end of 2025 will be approximately 112-115 rubles.
