Denmark has offered to buy California from Trump

Danish group Denmarkification has launched an initiative to buy California from the U.S. for $1 trillion, arguing that "sun, beaches and rollerskates" are what the Scandinavian country lacks - are what the Scandinavian country lacks, according to a statement published on the group's website.
"Let's buy California from [U.S. President] Donald Trump! Yes, you heard right," the text reads.
The authors of the initiative noted that buying California has a number of advantages: the weather, unlike in Denmark, is predominantly sunny there; avocados grow in abundance; the state's technology sector is developed. The presence of Disneyland, which would be renamed Hans Christian Andersenland after the potential purchase, is also noted as a plus.
The petition, posted on the group's website, has already garnered more than 198,000 signatures out of the 200,000 needed.
On January 26, Trump, answering questions from reporters in Las Vegas, expressed confidence that the United States would get Greenland. On the eve of Trump during a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen insisted on the acquisition of Greenland. Trump was reportedly aggressive and conflicted.
In December, Trump said it was an absolute necessity for the US to own and control Greenland. Prior to that, he had expressed interest in buying the island from Denmark in 2019, but was turned down. This coming year, Trump was also indicated that the island is not for sale and will not be sold, but Denmark can cooperate more with the US.
