Nine people were rescued from a fire in a residential building on Vavilova Street in Moscow. This was reported on February 9 by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Telegram-channel.

"On Vavilova Street personal belongings and furniture caught fire in an apartment on the second floor of a residential building. Employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry rescued five people from the second floor with the help of rescue devices, four more - from the overlying floors. All of them are transferred to doctors," - reported in the department.

It is noted that the fire was eliminated on the area of 20 square meters. m. At the scene worked 39 specialists and 10 units of equipment.

Earlier in the day firefighters rescued 21 people from a burning building in Vladivostok. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire could be an emergency mode of electrical equipment.

February 7, an elderly man died in a fire in a private house in Elets. The cause of death, tentatively, was poisoning by products of combustion. An unexhausted cigarette and emergency operation of heating equipment are considered as probable causes of the fire.
