Netanyahu called his visit to the U.S. historic and pivotal for Israel's future

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Feb. 9 called his visit to the United States historic and a turning point for Israel's future.
"I am now returning from a historic visit to Washington, D.C., where I met with President Donald Trump, senior members of his administration, Senate and congressional leaders. This visit and our conversations with the US president carry with them additional tremendous achievements that can ensure Israel's security for generations to come," he said.
Netanyahu noted that the warm and very informative meeting discussed possibilities that seemed impossible just a few months ago.
He also emphasized that Trump praised Israel's achievements.
"We agreed that all the military goals we set out to achieve: the elimination of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement, the return of all our hostages, ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel, the return of all residents - both in the north and in the south..." - announced the Prime Minister.
He also informed that Trump presented a different vision of the so-called "day after tomorrow" at the meeting.
"For a whole year, we were told that 'the day after tomorrow' we would need the PLO in the Gaza Strip. President Trump came with a completely different, much better vision for the State of Israel. A revolutionary, creative vision - and we are discussing it. He is determined to make it happen. It also opens many opportunities for us," Netanyahu concluded.
Earlier, on February 5, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a meeting with Trump that Israel intends to destroy the Palestinian movement Hamas, return all Jewish hostages and eliminate the threat to the country from the Gaza Strip. The American leader, in turn, called Gaza a demolition site and suggested resettling Palestinians in Jordan, Egypt or other countries.
At the same time, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal noted that the Palestinian side opposes the US president's proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Arab countries.
Later in the press conference, Trump said that the United States will take control of the Gaza Strip. At the same time, he specified that the state would own the territory and be responsible for its restoration, The New York Times (NYT) reported.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
