- Media reported on the negative impact of Trump's executive orders on medical clinics in the US

US President Donald Trump's executive orders have a negative impact on the system of medical care in the country, which is expressed in the lack of public funding for clinics. This was reported by Reuters on February 9.
Three community health centers near Richmond (Virginia) were forced to close after federal funds used to pay salaries to employees became unavailable, the representative of the Association of Public Health of the state Joe Stevens told the publication.
It is specified that nine other centers across Virginia were also unable to access state-allocated funds, but continued to see patients using reserve funds.
"They will need the money within the next week. We don't know why some centers can access the funds and some can't," Stevens noted.
According to the agency, other community health clinics in California and Virginia have confirmed they have received notices that federal HIV prevention grants have been discontinued.
"Some of the funding was terminated following the Trump administration's order to 'eliminate diversity, gender equity and inclusion programs and recognize only two genders - male and female,'" Reuters wrote.
Earlier, on January 20, the US president signed an executive order withdrawing the country from the WHO. After that, the media reported that WHO suspended the recruitment of new staff. Travel costs for staff members were also significantly reduced. Other measures include restrictions on replacing electronic equipment, renegotiating major contracts and suspending office renovations and capital investments.
Also on January 20, the U.S. leader stated that official U.S. policy is to recognize only two genders, male and female.
