Trump announced U.S. approval of $1 billion worth of military supplies to Japan

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has approved $1 billion worth of military sales to Japan, Trump said at a press conference in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Feb. 7.
"I am pleased to announce that this week my administration approved nearly a billion dollars worth of military sales to Tokyo. The U.S. is fully committed to Japan's security," he said.
According to Trump, Japan is one of the largest buyers of U.S. military products. Cooperation between Tokyo and Washington contributes, in his opinion, to stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
Earlier, on February 5, two F-35s of the US Air Force made an emergency landing on the territory of Japan. It is specified that the planes made an emergency landing due to lack of fuel. As a result, a civilian flight from Osaka had to wait for its landing for 13 minutes.
