A court has arrested Ekaterina Tarkhov, the granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov, for two months on suspicion of committing a double murder. According to the investigation, she shot the official and his wife, and then for a month removed the remains, at the same time selling the property of the grandparents under false powers of attorney. What is known about this case and the Tarkhov family, read in the material "Izvestia".

The murder of the former mayor of Samara - what happened

The murder of Viktor Tarkhov and his wife Natalia became known on February 5. According to the source of "Izvestia", the spouses were shot dead. Suspicion fell on the granddaughter of the victims Ekaterina Belskaya, the girl was detained.

The disappearance of the couple was reported to law enforcement agencies by former deputy Tarkhov in the mayor's office of Samara Alexander Kuznetsov. During the New Year holidays, he tried to contact the ex-city governor, but he did not answer the calls, and then wrote that he urgently left for Moscow, as his wife had a stroke. On all questions the man asked to contact his granddaughter Ekaterina. Kuznetsov did not believe the messages and in late January turned to the police.

During the inspection, law enforcers found out that the last time Tarkhov and his wife contacted each other was at the end of December 2024. At the same time, they were last seen alive - the couple was caught in the lens of a surveillance camera in the entrance. At the same time during the month from the phones of the missing continued to receive messages, and their apartment repeatedly visited Belskaya, taking out dark bags and large plastic barrels.

Soon the girl was detained on suspicion of murder. According to a concierge working in Belskaya's building, when investigators came to her apartment, the suspect refused to open the door for five hours. When the law enforcers did enter and asked the girl to call her grandparents to make sure of their well-being, she got nervous and began to justify herself with a dead phone and a broken charger. After that, she was detained.

According to investigators, Belskaya was preparing to commit a crime, purchased chemicals and plastic containers for this purpose. In addition, during the search in the apartment of the suspect were found passports and phones of the victims. Law enforcers also found out that the girl sold the property of relatives on false documents. So, in Samara found a car, which used to own the grandmother of the suspect, were identified and points of sale of jewelry of the victims.

According to one version, Belskaya dismembered the bodies of her grandmother and grandfather, and then gradually removed the remains by cab. Some fragments of the bodies remained in the apartment at the time of the suspect's arrest.

The court elected Belskaya a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for two months. A criminal case was opened under paragraph "a" part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two persons"). At the moment, investigators continue to study the scene of the crime, review footage from video surveillance cameras and question witnesses. The version about the involvement of third parties in the murder is being checked.

In a conversation with "Izvestia" State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev called the death of Tarhov and his wife a great tragedy. The interlocutor added that at least two versions of the motive for the crime are being considered. According to one of them, the murder was committed for the sake of inheritance, according to the other - because of the refusal of Natalia Tarkhova to allocate money to her granddaughter.

What is known about Viktor Tarkhov

Viktor Tarkhov was born in 1948 in Kuibyshev (modern Samara). He graduated from the chemical engineering faculty of Kuibyshev Polytechnic, after which he went to work at the local plant "Syntezspirt". The future mayor started his career as a trainee engineer, and in 1981 he became the director of the plant.

From 1984 to 1990, Tarkhov was director of the Production Association "Kuibyshevorgsintez", and in 1992-1994 he headed the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery. He subsequently served as Senior Vice President for Refining, Petrochemicals and Chemicals at Yukos. In the late 1990s, he founded Samara VVV-Avia, a company producing ultra-light Sigma airplanes.

In 2006, Tarkhov won the election for mayor of Samara. Two years later, the official found himself at the center of a scandal due to the consequences of a powerful snowfall that hit the region. According to the prosecutor's audit, the municipal system was not prepared for extreme weather conditions. Tarkhov was intended to be criminally prosecuted, but the case did not go to trial.

After his resignation in 2010, the official engaged in various business projects. In recent years he lived with his wife abroad, occasionally returning to Samara.

What is known about the family of Viktor Tarkhov

This is not the first time that the Tarkhov family is at the center of a criminal story. In 2022, the daughter of the deceased official Lyudmila received seven years in prison for extortion. Together with an accomplice, she blackmailed Alexander Mileyev, a deputy of the Samara Gubernaya Duma of the VI convocation, demanding to give her 200 million rubles. Otherwise, the woman promised to spread some "dirt" collected on the deputy.

Mileyev appealed to the FSB, after which he agreed to meet with the extortionist. In 2021, Lyudmila was caught red-handed while handing her money. The daughter of the former mayor denied her guilt, saying that earlier the deputy had borrowed $2.5 million from her father at 20% interest per annum, and she wanted to repay the debt.

It is also known that Lyudmila was the wife of businessman Sergei Loginov, a criminal authority nicknamed Lord. He was a member of Mukoedov's organized crime group, which was involved in the theft of oil products at the Novokuibyshevsk refinery. He was married to Tarhov's daughter until 2006. And in 2010, he was charged under several articles at once: theft of oil, illegal possession of weapons, explosives, drugs and attempted assassination of an FSB officer. In 2020, the man was released and officially lived on the pension of a liquidator of the Chernobyl accident.

Tarkhov's granddaughter, Ekaterina Belskaya, lived in a rented apartment and raised a minor son. "Izvestia" found out that four enforcement proceedings were opened against her in connection with debts totaling about 700 thousand rubles. However, all of them were terminated due to the impossibility of collecting the funds.

In 2020, Lyudmila Tarkhova tried to formalize the custody of Ekaterina's child. In court, the woman demanded to recognize her daughter as having limited legal capacity, since the girl allegedly took drugs. However, the case was not accepted for consideration.

According to Lyudmila's lawyer Andrei Karnomazov, the boy is now in an orphanage, he will be handed over to relatives. It is not known where his father is, but for some time he lived in Israel.
