In total, from January 23 to February 3, the United States could spend about $2 million to deport migrants to Latin American countries using the C-17 military transport plane. The Pentagon confirmed to Izvestia that this model was used seven times for repatriations.

Taking into account the distance from the US to Guatemala, Colombia and Ecuador, where these flights were sent, and the cost of one hour of a C-17 flight (about $19,000), on average the cost of transportation of one migrant exceeds the price of a first-class ticket to the same destination.

In the case of Colombia, the cost of transportation of one migrant reaches $1.6 thousand, in the situation with Ecuador - $1.9 thousand, with Guatemala - more than $1.5 thousand.
