At the moment, no signals regarding the resumption of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) have been received from the United States, the participants of the deal on the Iranian nuclear program are waiting for the administration of US President Donald Trump to formulate its position, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, told Izvestia.

"Now everyone is waiting for the new US administration to formulate its position on the Iranian nuclear program and possible diplomatic efforts in this direction. As of today, there is no clarity on this issue," Ulyanov summarized.

In 2015, Iran, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, France and Germany signed an action plan, which became known as the JCPOA. The document envisioned the lifting of sanctions against Tehran in exchange for limiting the development of its nuclear program. However, in 2018, Donald Trump's administration withdrew from the agreement.
