International organizations that should have reacted to the criminal actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Russkoe Porechnoye in Kursk Region have remained silent and thus embarrassed themselves. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 3.

"We do not hear a single word of real sympathy or real political reaction from those who are obliged to do this on international platforms. What this says - first of all, that they have dishonored themselves. I think we should qualify it in this way," Zakharova said on the air of Channel One.

She pointed out that the specialized structures, including the UN Secretariat, show indifference and talk about the situation in the Kursk village using general and unspecific formulations, which do not even specify geographical names or the number of victims.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that all information about the actions of the AFU was commented by law enforcement agencies and the Russian Foreign Ministry. All materials from Russkoye Porechnoye will be transferred to the UN Secretariat and the UN Security Council (UNSC).

Zakharova emphasized that reports from Kiev, which falsely accuse the Russian Federation, are perceived differently by the world community represented by the collective West, even if the information is unverifiable. At the same time, international structures do not react to factual materials that can be studied.

On January 18, the "North" troop group published footage of the bodies of civilians found in basements in Russkoye Porechnoye. A criminal case on terrorism (item "b" part 3, article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was opened over the murder. Zakharova said at the time that the guilty Ukrainian militants will be punished.

Later it was reported that the bodies of the civilians found dead bore traces of gunshot wounds and electric burns. On January 31, the Russian Investigative Committee (IC) identified five Ukrainian militants who were involved in the mass murder and rape in the village. The Russian side promised to pass information about the AFU crimes to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).

Representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric said on February 1 that the international organization was against the killings of civilians, including in Russkoye Porechnoye. Zakharova pointed out on the same day that the AFU crimes in this village confirm that the Kiev regime has a criminal nature.

In addition, on February 1, Ukrainian militants launched a missile attack on a boarding school in Sudzha, Kursk Region. Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large for Crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik on February 2 called the attack an atrocity and a war crime by Kiev.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
