Zelensky called the losses of the Ukrainian army huge

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have suffered huge losses. This was stated by the country's President Volodymyr Zelensky (whose term of office expired on May 20, 2024) on February 2.
"We also suffered huge losses," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
In addition, the Ukrainian leader said that Ukraine is close to the end of the conflict. He also called for a just peace for the people of the country.
Earlier, on January 23, the head of the office of the Ukrainian President Andriy Yermak reported a difficult situation on the front for the AFU. According to him, it lies in the insufficient equipment of brigades.
Before that, on January 7, the US magazine National Interest wrote that Russia would win in Ukraine thanks to the innovative technologies that the Russian military uses in carrying out combat missions.
On December 5, 2024, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were on the verge of collapse. The Ukrainian military, he said, had begun surrendering to Russian captivity in unprecedented numbers.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
