Su-34 fighter jet strikes AFU armored vehicles in Kursk border area

The crew of a Su-34 fighter-bomber of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) has struck armored vehicles and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of the Kursk Region. Footage of the combat operation was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 30.

The video published by the ministry shows the aircraft lifting off and striking with aerial bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK) against reconnaissance targets

Having received confirmation from intelligence about the destruction of AFU personnel and armored vehicles, the crew of the multirole supersonic fighter returned safely to the departure airfield.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported that Su-25 attack aviation crews carried out missile air strikes on camouflaged armored vehicles and personnel of enemy units in the Kursk border area. The missiles were launched in pairs from low altitudes.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian fighters who invaded the Russian territory is underway. Total losses of the AFU for the entire time of hostilities in the region amounted to more than 56.1 thousand military personnel.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
