Five people injured in southern Lebanon in an Israeli UAV strike

Five people were injured in an Israeli drone strike on the town of Majdal Selm in southern Lebanon. This was reported by Al Arabiya TV channel on Wednesday, January 29.
"IDF ( Israel Defense Forces. - Ed.) forces also detained three people on Wednesday in the southern border town of Maroun al-Ras," the publication stated.
Earlier, on January 26, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported the death of 15 people in the shelling from the direction of Israel. As specified, at least 80 people were wounded in 15 different areas of the south of the country.
A day earlier it was reported that an officer and a soldier were wounded due to the explosion of an IDF SUV. They were evacuated by a military medical service helicopter to a hospital inside Israel.
The escalation of hostilities between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah followed the events of September 17 and 18, 2024, when thousands of people in Lebanon, including members of the movement, were injured when pagers and other communication devices exploded. Thereafter, Israel continued to eliminate the leadership of the Shiite movement and to strike Lebanese territory.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
