The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Oleksandr Syrskyy, has set tasks for the new commander of the Khortytsya group, Mykhaylo Drapatoy. About it on January 29, the commander-in-chief said in his Telegram-channel.

"Set priority tasks to hold back the onslaught of a superior enemy. We are working together," he wrote.

Syrsky added that the AFU needs to "hold the line" as "maximum pressure is exerted in this direction."

Drapatoy was appointed head of the Khortytsya group on January 26. At the same time, he will continue to retain the authority of the commander of ground forces.

In May 2024, Drapatyi was appointed commander of the operational-tactical grouping of troops "Kharkiv". Later, in November, he became commander of ground forces
