The German government shows a totalitarian approach to limiting freedom of speech in the country. This was stated by American entrepreneur Ilon Musk on January 25 at a campaign event of the Alternative for Germany (AdG) party.

"The current government is suppressing freedom of speech and sending people to jail for criticizing politicians or even social media posts. This is madness," he said, speaking via video link.

During his speech, Musk emphasized that true democracy is impossible with the suppression of freedom of speech, as it is one of its fundamental values.

In addition, the entrepreneur urged Germans to be proud of their nation and stop feeling guilty about the past. He also recommended that German citizens support the Alternative for Germany party.

On January 21, Musk criticized German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his statements about freedom of speech in Europe, while misrepresenting the politician's name. Musk wrote on his social media page X (formerly Twitter): "Shame on you, Oaf Schiets." It is specified that the word "Oaf" in English translates to "dumbass".

Before that, on December 20, 2024, Musk said that only the AdG could be the salvation for the FRG. A few days earlier, the "Alternative for Germany" in Thuringia presented a resolution for peace and sovereignty of Germany in three languages - German, English and Russian.
