The Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of an AFU tank by the Lancet in the Kursk region

On January 22, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the objective control of the destruction of a tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) by the Lancet barrage munition of the North group of troops in the border area of Kursk Region.

It is specified that the movement of military equipment towards the firing position was detected by means of aerial reconnaissance.

"After analyzing the received intelligence it was decided to fire on the enemy tank," - stated in the message of the department.

As a result of the actions of the Russian army, the object was liquidated.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported the defeat of AFU strongholds in the Kursk border area by units of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense (RCDBZ) troops of the Tula Guards Airborne Unit as part of the TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems. After accomplishing the combat task, the unit changed positions as soon as possible and promptly reloaded the systems.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
