Russian artillerymen continue their combat work in the Kursk border region to fight against the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). They told Izvestiya on January 22.

"We are catching them (AFU fighters. - Ed.). We have a lot of things to shoot at, practically at every point. The point is named, and we are already ready to work on it. Tonight we brought in 10 people, one shot and six of them were gone at once. The delivery happens almost every night", - said the commander of the artillery division with the call sign "Vampire".

He also added that there are situations when the commander has not yet given the order to work on the target, and the artillerymen are already ready.

"The work is going on now is very intense. A whole artillery battery is working on the enemy. This gun has fired back. The sounds of bursts can be heard in the neighborhood. Everything is being done so that the advance in Kursk region does not stop for a second," said correspondent Alexander Fedorchak.

According to the Russian serviceman, they used to work in whole batteries, but now it is more like a single job to fight the enemy.

On the same day, on the Kupyansk direction, the FPV-drones of the Rubicon testing center for advanced unmanned technologies destroyed an AFU self-propelled artillery unit.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
