Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, units of the "North" group of troops in the Kharkiv direction have defeated the formations of the motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near the village of Volchansk in the Kharkiv region.
At the same time, the servicemen of the "West" occupied more favorable lines and positions. In this direction, the enemy lost more than 510 servicemen, seven armored combat vehicles, including an American M113 armored personnel carrier. Seventeen vehicles, 10 field artillery pieces, including five Western-made ones, and two field ammunition depots were destroyed.
Units of the Southern Group of Forces improved their tactical position. At the same time, Center troops continued advancing deep into the AFU defenses and liberated the village of Volkovo in the DNR.
In addition, units of the Vostok force group continued advancing deep into the enemy's defenses. The losses of the AFU amounted to up to 120 servicemen, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, a car and three artillery pieces, including a UK-made FH-70 howitzer.
Russian troops hit an energy facility that supports the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, the infrastructure of military airfields, assembly and storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as concentrations of enemy manpower and equipment in 148 areas.
Air defense assets shot down four Hammer guided aerial bombs, six HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) shells and 156 aircraft-type drones.
A total of 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 41,034 UAVs, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20,702 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,510 MLRS combat vehicles, 20,845 field artillery and mortar guns, and 30,540 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation.
