Four AFU drones shot down while attempting to attack Melitopol, Zaporizhzhya region

Four drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been shot down while attempting to attack Melitopol in Zaporizhzhya Region. This was reported by the press service of the city administration on January 20.

It is specified that the attempt was carried out at about 8:00 (coincides with Moscow time).

"Air defense forces shot down all four aircraft-type UAVs. There are no casualties," reads the message published in the Telegram-channel.

During the night of January 20, four US-made HIMARS missiles and 14 drones of the Ukrainian army were destroyed over the Bryansk region. Also on this day, the authorities of Tatarstan reported about foiled attempts of the AFU to attack industrial enterprises of Kazan with the help of UAVs.

In addition, on this day, restrictions on the reception and dispatch of flights were introduced at the airports of the capital of Tatarstan, Izhevsk and Nizhnekamsk.

Earlier, on January 20, the Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces destroyed 31 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions.

Ukrainian militants have been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid a special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russia announced on February 24, 2022.
