Bulgarian politician Kostadinov called for claims on Ukrainian territory

The return of southern Bessarabia, which now belongs to Ukraine, to Bulgaria is logical because the indigenous population of this region are Bulgarians. The leader of the Bulgarian Renaissance party Kostadin Kostadinov said.
"[Southern Bessarabia spent] more than 450 years in the Bulgarian state, the indigenous population of this region (since the VI century) are Bulgarians, and to this day it is the majority of the population. By comparison, Ukraine has owned Southern Bessarabia for only 34 years," Kostadinov wrote on his Facebook page on January 9 (he is a member of Meta, an organization recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
The politician noted that after future peace talks, Ukrainian statehood, which he called untenable, will disintegrate, and then Bulgaria will have to assert its claims to South Bessarabia.
Kostadinov added that it would be logical to unite Bulgaria and Macedonia because they are two countries with a common origin, people and language. In addition, the leader of the Renaissance party called justified the desire of the American president-elect Donald Trump to annex Canada to the United States and his claims to the Panama Canal, which Washington, which built it, owned until 1979.
Earlier, on December 31, 2024, the British newspaper Financial Times reported that in 2025 Ukraine will have to sign a peace treaty with Russia. As part of it, Kiev will give up actual claims to the territories liberated by Moscow. This will be done in return for security guarantees from the USA. In addition, Ukraine's accession to NATO will be suspended.
Before that, on December 3, Trump during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau voiced the assumption that Canada could become a new American state. This will happen if Ottawa fails in the fight against drug smuggling and illegal migration.
Trudeau, in turn, on the same day rejected Trump's idea to make Canada the 51st state of the United States.
In addition, on December 22, 2024, the U.S. President-elect said that the United States will demand to return control over the Panama Canal if the Central American republic refuses to revise the terms of its use. In turn, Panamanian President Jose Raul Mulino emphasized that the canal cannot pass into U.S. ownership.
