In 2025, the number of illegal actions that attackers will use artificial intelligence (AI) to plan will increase many times over. According to cybersecurity experts, criminal methods will evolve along with the progress of AI, with about 90% of illegal cyber groups using it as early as this year. The attacks are expected to affect not only cyberspace, but also other aspects of life. The key reasons are the neural network technologies that will permeate people's lives and the hardening of the connection between AI and the consumer marketplace

"The annual increase in crimes committed with the help of AI is not recorded by official bodies. It is determined roughly by the number of bots and the content they generate. In 2025, the growth of such crimes may increase up to eight times or even ten times compared to last year," said Igor Bederov, Head of Investigations at T.Hunter.

The main danger is situations when users will be able to "lure" chatbots with instructions on how to create weapons, explosive devices, chemical compounds that can be used for terrorist purposes, according to IT expert Dmitry Shtanenko. Also this year, the number of data leaks will increase due to the widespread use of AI by organizations, because more than a third of surveyed employees admitted that they use such tools without the knowledge of the employer.
