German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Thursday, January 9, condemned the attack by a woman with a cake fake on former German Finance Minister and leader of the Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP) Christian Lindner.

"Attacking politicians is not a manifestation of democratic behavior. Such actions are indecent and dangerous. It is good that Lindner reacted confidently. Solidarity among Democrats plays a role here," Scholz wrote on his X (former Twitter) page.

Earlier in the day, an unknown woman threw an object resembling a cake at the former German Finance Minister and hit him right in the face. According to eyewitnesses, on the bottom of the structure was written "For the love of freedom". Lindner himself smeared some of the foam back onto his hair with the attacker. After that, the politician tasted the foam and continued his speech.
